There is a great story in the Bible about four men with leprosy who had come together to support one another during the days of Elisha. You can find it in 2 kings 7.
The city of Samaria was under siege by a foreign army and these four friends stood together at the city gate and discussed their options.
They said to one another, "Why just stand here until we die?
"If we go into the city where the famine is, "they said, "we will die.
"On the other hand", they said, If we just sit here and do nothing, we will die."
So, they decided they would do what they could together. They made a move. "Let's go over to the camp of the Arameans and surrender. If they spare us, we live, if they kill us then we die" (2kings7:4).
