Self Care is the ablility of individuals, families, and communitiws to promote health, prevent disease, maintain health, cope with illness and disabilty with or without the support of a health care provider.
Self Care interventions are quality tools that support self-care, including medicines, counseling, diagnostics, and digital technologies which can be accessed outside of a formal health care setting.
Self Care interventions can be used to empower individuals and communities to manage their health and well-being, strengthen national institutions with efficient use of domestic resources for health, and improve primary healthcare.
Self Care is a holistic approach to the health and well-being of each person, taking account of their circumstances, needs, and desires across a lifetime, as well as the environment in which they live.
